[Personality]

Wally has actually changed a bit since where he's taken now. He's a little more mature, and for most of the series, he was very wary of the superhero thing. The reason behind quitting was never fully explained; in the show it said that it was because of school but there may have been other reasons for it. I say this because of those reasons, he tried to distance himself as much as he could except when he had to get back into the fray.

He is very, very protective of Artemis. It was to the extent that he was so concerned for her safety that during an argument with Dick (his best friend), he pushed him into a chair. His temper flared so much that when Dick made a snide comment about something else, Wally lost it and actually pushed him, yelling about how much he was worried about Artemis. He wasn't ever thrilled on their faking her death, but he went with it grudgingly because in the end, it was her decision.

Even his friendships with the Team seemed have suffered somewhat. He isn't seen to be contacting them that much -- but he did keep in contact with Dick as shown in one of the tie-in comics. Other than his attempt at intervening with Roy, he doesn't really socialize with the rest of the old Team. So when I say he cut himself off from the superhero biz, he really cut himself off.

But! He isn't always a sour person. During Summit, he was joking around and having a little bit of fun while they were fighting, and he was having fun with Artemis in Paris as well. There is still a spark of his old self there, but it's mostly covered up by the seriousness of everything that was going on at the time. For the most part, the times that he was the most easygoing was when he was with Artemis. Even as he was disappearing because of the Reach weapon, he was thinking about her, telling Bart and Barry that she'll kill him and told Barry to pass a message on for him.

All in all, Wally has grown up in some respects, but there are still parts of him there still.

[...Well. This was awkward. Wally hadn't expected to be here again. Five years had passed since he'd been in Somarium--and he hadn't remembered any of it until he had reappeared. Now he knew firsthand what others had talked about, forgetting until they came back.

But he didn't have a whole lot of time to dwell on it. He was sore and needed a change--he didn't particularly want to be in his Kid Flash uniform anymore for the moment.

He stuffed the outfit into a bag after changing; getting a hoodie and a pair of jeans and going to the park to just think. He wonders who's still here. Do they remember too? Does he want to talk to them? Dick and Artemis, maybe, depending on what they remembered.

He rubs his hands on his face and leans back on the bench he was sitting on and closed his eyes. He stayed like that for a while, and he almost drifts on the verge of sleeping. But in reality, he was replaying his final moments over and over again, figuring out if he could have survived somehow, if he could be with Artemis again--

--he didn't regret it, really. If it saved the world, so be it. But the idea of not seeing Artemis again--Dick--Barry--Bart...it took a toll on him.

He didn't really want to think about it.

Remembering about the dreams (it would be kind of awful for it to broadcast a dream about this--as if to say "hello! I'm back, here, if you guys don't remember this then surprise! I'm dead now!"), he sits back up and pulls out the Dreamberry. If his friends didn't remember that, then he didn't want to bring it up. Upsetting them was something he didn't want to do -- and even if they did remember...he didn't want to say anything about it.

Maybe a second chance was okay.

Finally, he decides to say something to the network. It's not in voice or video; he's not sure he's up to it quite yet. So he goes with text (which, by the way, has improved--probably thanks to Artemis yelling at him for indecipherable messages):
]

so i guess you guys jinxed me--

[Wait, he wasn't going to bring it up, was he? He had decided not to. But it was kind of at the forefront of his mind...]

--nevermind. so uh i'm back. i never thought i'd miss this place.

[Considering...]

i could really go for some chicken whizzies right now.
